PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Janey Henze Cook practices criminal law in Federal and State Courts. She has experience in both white collar and non-white collar criminal cases, arising out of felony and misdemeanor crimes.

Janey’s experience includes representation of individuals charged with: fraudulent schemes and artifices, homicide, assault, theft, public corruption, drug offenses, gambling, prostitution, forfeiture, and offenses against public order. Janey has also represented media enterprises with respect to First Amendment constitutional issues and elected officials in matters involving disclosure obligations and election laws. Uniquely, Janey has experience with the defenses guilty but insane and assisted suicide in homicide cases. Janey has also represented victims and their families, including the the family of a homicide victim.

Upon graduation from law school, Janey served as the law clerk for two United States District Court Judges from 2003-2006. She clerked for the Chief Judge, Honorable Stephen M. McNamee, in the District of Arizona and the Honorable William Q. Hayes in the Southern District of California. Prior to founding Henze Cook Murphy, PLLC, Janey was a shareholder at Gallagher & Kennedy P.A., commencing her practice there in 2006.
